The Sin of Disobedience

Would you take a whipping so that someone else could escape the punishment for their wrong?   “I know a man” who did!

Romans 5:18-20  (KJV)

18Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

19For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

20Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

He was chastised for our disobedience, don't waste his blood!

Disobedience is sin, sometimes I think we as Christians forget that.   We tend to think disobedience is a choice we are allowed to make without consequence.   Adam disobeyed and sin become the dominant force in the world til Christ.

Christ was so obedient that death was the penalty he paid for our forgiveness.   Grace, the unmerited favor afforded us because of Christ’ sacrifice must not be abused, lest we fall back under the penalty of sin again. Accept Christ’ payment and live; don’t and we will die not once but twice.

Revelation 20:14

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
