Gratitude, thankfulness, gratefulness, or appreciation is a feeling, emotion or attitude in acknowledgment of a benefit that one has received or will receive.
It’s funny ! It’s funny how a brush with death opens up the spirit of gratitude. It’s a shame that we can’t appreciate things before we arrive at the crucial point of lose. Many times God permits things to happen in our lives for that very reason. Why is it that when and if things are going great we forget to call on God and even to thank him that things are going so great! We are so blessed to have a savior so willing to speak on our behalf and even remind his father that his blood paid for our pardon as if God could ever forget!
Christ shows us that reminding God holds him to his word. His word is a promise that he can not break, but it’s up to us to know the promises by delving into the word of God. I find myself being so grateful about the very thing so easily taken for granted. If you’ve never suffered with shortness of breath or never experienced not being able to breath period you may not understand what I’m talking about? If by chance you have, you too appreciate every breath you’re able to freely take! The constant threat of death will give you a greater appreciation for life; but don’t wait for the threat! Let God know how grateful you are now by showing “pure gratitude”!
