There’s going to be a sifting, a shifting and a lifting.

Sift: to put through a screen or to examine closely.

Amos 9:9

Luke 22:31

³¹And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

Isaiah 30:28

²⁸And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.

Jesus told Peter that the enemy wanted to sift him but Jesus prayed for him! Likewise, the enemy desire to sift us but in John 17, Jesus prated for us.

Shift: A change from one position/place to another. A change in place, nature and direction. A group of workers that work in a certain period of time.

 1 Kings 13:1-10

 Lift: to raise, elevate, bring from a lower place to a higher level. To disappear.

Revelation 3:21

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

1 Corinthians 6:14

And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.

Amos 9:11

In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:

2 Corinthians 4:14

Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.

1 Corinthians 15:43

It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

Without the foundation in and connection to God, we will not make it through the sifting. We must make it past the sift, to the shift and we must make it through the shift to get the lift!  It may look like we’re being sifted but God is putting us in the position to be lifted.
