7In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.
8Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.
9There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.
Do we think that things have gotten better just because we haven’t heard about anymore earthquakes or do we feel more at peace because we have gotten close enough to the Lord to know that nothing can harm us when we’re under God’s protection? I’m not informing to invoke fear but acknowledgment of the prophetic time line. We can not relax unless we relax in Jesus!
Based on the information I was able to gather, this is the second strongest quake to hit Mexico this year. In April they were hit with 7.2 and just a week ago they felt a small one. It seems to be a trend with quakes having repeat performances in the same location. This extreme weather trend seems to be something that’s occurring more frequently and intensely.
BuffaloNews.com/ A strong 6.5-magnitude earthquake rattled the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca Wednesday, and was felt at least as far away as Mexico City. The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was centered in a sparsely populated, mountainous area of Oaxaca near the southern Pacific coast. “It felt strong, very strong,” said Tomas Herrera Sanchez, a police officer on duty in the town of Santiago Pinotepa Nacional, the closest town to the quake’s center. “There are people who got scared and left their houses,” but there were no immediate reports of damage, he said. The Oaxaca state civil defense department also said it had not received any immediate reports of injuries or damage. The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake hit at 2.22 a.m. local time (0722 GMT, 3:22 a.m. EDT). The quake was centered about 75 miles (120 kilometers) west-southwest of Oaxaca city, the state capital, and 220 miles (355 kilometers) south-southeast of Mexico City. Mexico’s National Seismological Service gave the magnitude as 6.4, and placed the epicenter closer to the coast, which is known for tourist towns like Puerto Escondido and Puerto Angel located further to the east. The quake occurred at a depth of 6.2 miles (10 kilometers).
As I study the scriptures there seems to be a recurring theme; God speaks to his people in love compelling them to serve and obey him they don’t and we see his wrath. I believe we are and will see this again as the attempts to reach the world for Christ falls on death ears. At the same time God makes sure that we know that those that obey and trust him will be saved!
The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
Meanwhile hurricane Alex is expected to hit the Gulf of Mexico any day. Let’s pray for those bracing for this weather.
We have had severe and extreme weather conditions on a consistent weekly basis. We seem to be running out of words to say… but we must keep praying. The only one that can really control the storms is allowing them and he want’s to draw us back to him. He’s not heartless though. He does care. If we were more obedient to his word I don’t think we would see the destruction in the land that we see presently (think about it). I do know that he listens for those that will call his name and he is willing to show himself.
Psalm 107:28-30 (KJV)
28Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.
29He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
30Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
It seems like there’s a earthquake at least every month. The question is when will we in America experience the big one. I believe it is coming. The extreme weather seems to be getting more intense including the extreme heat that most places is now experiencing. I am totally convinced that God is trying to get our attention, he’s definitely got mine.
A suspected tornado tore through Connecticut’s largest city Thursday – a rare occurrence in the state – toppling trees and power lines and collapsing a building in Bridgeport as a powerful line of storms swept across parts of the Northeast. We know that there are more to come because the bible tells us so. Shall we sit back and wait or shall we witness, warn and prepare just in case we have to experience one for ourselves?
Luke 21:10-11 (KJV)
10Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
11And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
To wake up and see the news and know that some of these very events I dreamed about years ago is slightly unnerving. I remember the dreams even though I always wanted to forget them as just nightmares. Now every morning the news unfolds another one. If they are all going to happen I must tell you that I dreamed that America had the worst earthquake ever.
I dreamed that streets opened and closed but slid like a zipper until houses from one side were in the yards of the houses across and down the street. That’s the best way I can explain it. All I know is I will be praying that God has mercy and that people will turn to him now so maybe just maybe he won’t allow us to be destroyed by the earth’s fury!
Hundreds Missing in Brazil’s Floods
Thousands Affected by Floods in China
Standing up and making the changes necessary in our lives to conform to the word of God has been recorded in the bible as the very thing God looks for to end destruction. History has proven that mankind’s stubborn and rebellious ways have hindered that and judgment has been inevitable. Will we have a repeat of history or will we make that change?
Ezekiel 22:30-31 (CEV)
30I looked for someone to defend the city and to protect it from my anger, as well as to stop me from destroying it. But I found no one. 31So in my fierce anger, I will punish the Israelites for what they have done, and they will know that I am furious. I, the LORD, have spoken.
I have been blessed to have never, in my life, experienced a tornado, but as of late I have been preparing my mind for the possibilities. We see that almost every week brings us extreme weather from some place in the world and more and more of it has occurred here on American soil. We have been extremely blessed not to have experienced the earthquakes on the magnitude that other countries have, but I believe even that will change.
This nation is a stubborn one that seems to inadvertently shake it’s fist at God by doing so many things that are totally contrary to his word. Throughout the bible punishment always followed disobedience. I recently posted a statement on Facebook that said “God doesn’t have to punish us for the evils we do, all he has to do is withdraw his protection and allow us to be consumed by the evil til we destroy ourselves… Just something for you to remember the next time you decide to do your own thing!”
(AP) A tornado that touched down in Billings, Mont., caused heavy damage to parts of an expo center Sunday evening, a Montana highway patrol dispatcher said. The Expo Center at Metra Park suffered damage when the tornado hit in a neighborhood called The Heights, dispatcher Jordan White said. A good chunk of the center’s 10,000-seat Rimrock Auto Arena was torn off when the tornado hit as a big storm system with golf ball-sized hail passed through the city. Debris was seen strewn for hundreds of yards in the surrounding area.
The arena is the multi-facility event center’s main venue. The center is used to host rodeos, monster truck shows, concerts and high school sporting events. Law enforcement at the scene didn’t know of any event going on at the arena when the tornado hit. No deaths or injuries have been reported. The patrol has blocked off the area and has asked that people to stay out of the neighborhood.
With so many things happening on a daily basis we should live in constant prayer. Even though so much seems to be going wrong, we are still blessed that this is burning land and not taking lives. If we fervently pray it doesn’t have to. God hears sincere prayers backed up by dedicated lives. I think we have been guilty of living the way we want and only praying when things got back, and when things got better going back to our sinful lives. This kind of behavior is what angers God the most, no one likes to be used!
Deuteronomy 32:21-23 (KJV)
21They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
22For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
23I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them.
We don’t fully know why so many foreign countries are suffering such strong earthquakes? Yet we do know what the bible says. In your studies you will find what religion is heavily recognized in those regions and you will see that God does not tolerate idol worship. Strong words? I know, but only repeated because God said it first. If we to continue to feel the safety we now feel then we must continue to lift up the name of the Lord.
So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
