Verse of the Day

 Matthew 7:12 KJV

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

That’s where the golden rule comes from. Of course instead of giving God his props they said reworded it and called it the golden rule.

“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” recognize that? Truth is sometimes that is difficult because our nature wants us to be nice to those we like and that like us, but we are suppose to be nice to all regardless. Our actions should not be based on the actions or reactions of other. We are suppose to show people how they should act by example that’s the whole deal! So if someone is hateful to us don’t just avoid them but go out of your way to show them kindness because you would prefer they were kind to you. Even if they don’t get it, God will!

Notes by Smith – Dominion

DOMINION

We must be careful not to lose the dominion that God has given us.   If we are not careful, the things we are supposed to control will control us.   Dominion: The power or right of governing. Sovereign control.

Genesis 1:26-28

26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

We must walk in the dominion that God promised us. When we let go of our dominion, we will walk in fear.   We allow our flesh to control us! It is time to get the flesh under control! Your mind must be transformed! When you walk in faith, God backs you up!   “You gotta say it until you believe it and believe it until you see it!” Sister Adams   When you truly walk in faith, you claim it and keep moving! Don’t pause, waiting to see something! If you wait, doubt will come in!

 Psalm 8:3

3  When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

Psalm 8:5-6

5  For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

6  Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

God has put all things under our feet so why do we walk around so defeated?! We don’t have to be defeated! God has given us our victory!     When you have something that seems unexplainable, it can only be fixed by God!   How many of us are really willing to lay our lives down so that God can be glorified?   God gave us peace! What did we do with it?   “When you don’t know who you are, somebody else will tell you!”   The world hated Jesus because He knew who he was! No man could tell Him!   Our dominion does not apply to people. We are not supposed to control people but rather things and spirits.

 Matthew 18:18

18  Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

When we declare on earth, God declares in Heaven. Use your keys (spiritual).   The more you talk to God, the less you will hear from the devil!

Notes by Smith – Justified pt 1

JUSTIFIED PART 1

Pastor Charlie Adams

We all need to be justified! We can not make ourselves worthy of the salvation. God must justify us. We must me saved! Salvation is deliverance from the consequences of sin. Death would be our end without salvation.

Romans 3:23

23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:23

23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We have all sinned and we would all be condemned to eternal damnation without salvation.

Beware of the “one world” church. Also, remember Christianity is NOT a religion. It is a way of life. Christianity is based on an intimate, personal relationship with Christ.   We must realize who we are in Christ! We must allow ourselves to be led by the Spirit of God not our flesh.

JUSTIFIED

1. To prove to be just, right, and reasonable.

2. To pronounce free from guilt or blame.

3. To adjust to make margins straight.

Romans 5:1-6

(The Blessing by John Walden)

We have access to God’s grace by faith. We will NOT be ashamed of our hope because God will come through.   Self is a vicious beast! Fill yourself w the Word so you can kill the flesh!

Romans 1:28-32

There is so much wickedness when we let the flesh rule us.   Watch what you say out of your mouth! Don’t spread anything that is not based in the Word.   How are you going to keep your car on the road when you keep avoiding inspection? Let God inspect you!

10 proofs that you are justified:

 1. When you are washed and sanctified (set aside)

1 Corinthians 6:11

11  And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

2 Corinthians 5:17

17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2. When you repent

Luke 18:13-14

13  And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

14  I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted

3. When you believe

Acts 13:38-39

38  Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:

39  And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

The Rape of Innocence

Help me keep my innocence!

In my personal opinion, the most innocent thing on this earth is a young child. How can we protect their innocence? Newtown is an example of how Satan desires to see our children; dead!

From the time a child is born he or she relys on us for everything. There is nothing more precious than a new born child. They may not always come out beautiful, but they come out innocent. Don’t get me wrong I do realize that we are all born into sinful flesh.

Romans 3:23

 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

There’s nothing more innocent that the spirit of a child. We as parents and adults should do our best to preserve that innocence. Our society has become so vulgar that this is almost impossible. I remember when children played outdoors. Now you can ride pass empty playgrounds and neighborhoods and not see a child.   I’m sure there may be the question in your mind “who’s suppose to be guilty of the rape of innocence?” We all are as we ourselves become so inqrossed in life and the pursuit of happiness that we have neglected our first assignment as parents. How do we not know what our children are being exposed to daily that slowing dissolves the pure innocent thoughts a child should have?

Technology can be an asset but at the same time I believe that it’s used to seduce our kids. Technology has slowly replaced what use to be child’s play. Not only has technology brought our children in from the playgrounds but it has become an addiction in many of the lives of the parents. You can’t explain to a child in school why it’s important to turn off the video games when he plays with his dad!     Creativity will soon fade away, as joysticks replace paint brushes and musical instruments. I beleive creativity will increase possitivity in the mind of a child. We have all but forgotten how to write as tablets and laptop relace pen and paper in school. Technology opens the door to great things but it also can open the door to some heinus things. Pop ups and advertisments can lure a child down a path of sudduction.

I remember my son telling me he went to school one day, this was when he was young in middle school; and another young boy showed him a magazine with pictures. That opened the door for an insatiable appetite for porn. The computer then became an aid, luckaly I had stretigically place the computer so that I could see at all times what they were doing. That limited his access, but how many know chlidren will find a way around our rules. Once that appetite was interjected into his spirit it controlled him. My sons innocense was gone, he had now seen things only meant for married men!

How do you restore stolen innocense? You can’t we then had to fight the battle of freeing him. True freedom only came when he saw the disgust on my face. I could no longer look at my own son without being disgusted, it was as if he wasn’t even my son anymore! I believe this hurt him more than any punnishment we could administer. He came to me with true repentance and we all prayed together and his commitment to God was the true change he needed to be freed from the addiction to porn!   That’s just my example of what rapping our childrens innocence can lead to. As we watch the news we are all familiar with other stories of what becomes of children with stolen innocence. As a child grows they experience things and they learn, but when our chilren are exposed to things too soon you have children acting like adults and they are not prepared for adulthood.

Until we get tired of all the vulger commercials, songs and shows that flood the market nothing will change. If we can clean our minds up more and not be so drawn to the most violent movie, the most seductive show and stop listening to such vulger music we could be better examples for our children. Kids don’t pay as much attention to what we say unless it matches what we do. Sometimes we watch things thinking they are too young to understand what they see, you’d be surprise how much they understand and how early in life they understand it!

Innocence is so important God:

Matthew 19:14

But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

 Matthew 18:3

And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Becoming as children is as simple as getting back to totally trusting our Heavenly Father and forgiving one another. That’s innocence!   Stop allowing TV to babysit, get back to reading to our children and preferably read the bible to our children. Let’s bring prayer back. Pray with your child. Monitor their video games. Stop allowing to play with violent and sexually motivated games. Check their books know what they are reading and watching. Know their friends get more involved in their lives. Let them know how much every thing they do matters to you. Pay attention to the type of text they are sending and emails and message they send and reseave. They may not like it now but one day they’ll thank you.

The sexualizatiion of women is another thing we must speak out against every time we notice it! Don’t patronize the stores that use sex to sell items. The innocent eyes of our youth are bombarded with images of sexuality and we wonder why children are experimenting in the corners of classrooms and the back of school buses. Premature sex is on the rise and teenage pregnancy is at an all time high. Babies having babies; something must be done.   Child molestation is another rape that goes so often undetected. Once the child’s innocence has been stolen trust becomes difficult. Who do they tell? Many suffer in silence as they quietly try to deal with What’s happening to them while attempting to maintain a normal childhood! How can this be happening right under our nose?

Then a day comes like the Friday in Newtown Connecticut and we all wonder what would drive a young man to do such a thing. It appears as though he tried to destroy innocence at the point in which his innocence was probably stolen. Not only did he want to destroy his mother but he wanted to make a profound statement about the loss of what we consider most precious; our children. We can never restore the innocence of those children that died in that manner nor can we preserve the innocence of the ones that survived. Their lives will never be the same again. How do we move on from here? How can we restore a since of security to those children?

What’s really sad is that we shortly resume to life as usually forgetting the tragic events that took place in Connecticutt. The next killer video game will be on the store shelves and we parents will buy it or allow it for our children just to pasify them. What we will really be pacifying is the devil within! Many may not believe in evil spirits but they do exist, and they seek the innocent. While we turn our heads they seep in and plant themselves in the souls of unattended children and slowly grow into something we no longer recognize or are able to control.

Every picture shown of the guy that did the shooting in the movie theater the night of the “Batman movie looks like he was demonically possessed. The picture of the Newtown shooter has almost the very same look. When did that demon get in? How many of us have encountered what we call unmanageable children? If something isn’t done you will soon be dealing with a trouble teen and ultimately an uncontrollable adult!   Stop the rapping of our children’s innocence, take back control of what they see, hear and play with. It may take more work but in the end it’ll be worth it. IF not each generation will get worse and worse until we live in a sea of monsters!

I have grandchildren and I almost wish they never had to go to public school. I want to preserve their innocence but I know that they will encounter some child that may tell them somethings that’s not age appropriate. I pray over them now and I can only trust that God will surround them and protect them when I can’t. I hurt for the parents of those that lost their child in such a way as what happened in Newtown Connecticut, but I really pray that God can bring some restoration to the children of that school that weren’t shot but heard and saw more than they could ever forget!

There were more lives changed than just the parents of the murdered children. America has been changed, we will never see elementary school the same. Not only did it steal the children’s security it stole the security of the remaining parents. How do they send their children back to that school or any school in that town? How does it affect every parent. I imagine home schooling will spike and many parents will decide to teach their kids themselves. I wish I could keep my grand children til they graduate from high school.

Sometimes when I look at the pictures on face book of little girls dressed seductively on face book I cringe. I think to myself these parents are assisting in rapping this child of her innocence. She should be somewhere coloring or playing with dolls. Instead she’s being dressed inappropriately and used and a sex emblem on the Internet. We’d be surprised what some pervert does while looking at these images of these little babies. Truly I could go on and on about this but I won’t. I only hope that something said will trigger some to make a change starting with your own children or the children God has in-trusted us with!

Notes by Smith- Good Success

Speaker: Charlie Adams

New Year’s Eve –Good Success

 Joshua 1:6-8

6  Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

7  Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.

8  This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Don’t depart from the book of the law! You will have GOOD SUCCESS if you follow God!   Don’t be amazed by the giants you will face in 2013, God will give you the victory over them!   Pay close attention to the voice of God. Stay so in tune with the Holy Ghost that you can not be distracted nor discouraged!

If we listen to the voice of God, we won’t have to fear what the enemy can or will do to us!

Don’t judge people, pray for them!

Scripture References: Revelation 5, Romans 1:16-32

Who is worthy to open the book? Only Jesus!   The seals represents judgement of the earth. Only Jesus could open the book and loose the seals because He is/was the deliverer.   What is salvation to you? Have you counted the costs and recognized the gift you have been given?

Christians should be ready to STAND! When we have confidence in Christ, we will no longer fear the enemy! He may startle us but he won’t scare us!   The gospel of Jesus is POWER!   Do we glorify God now that we know Him or are we like the believers described in Romans 1:21?

Don’t let the crowd sway you. At some point, you will have to stand on your own beliefs, principles, opinions etc. Stand on the Word!   When you totally commit to God, you won’t run from Him/the Church.

Are you a runner?

Pastor Yulonda Smith

The love of God is genuine! We must stop justifying sin! We often do this to pacify and satisfy our flesh.   When we praise the Lord, every fiber of our being joins in at our command! We must use the power of God within us to put our flesh under subjection!

We must come into the house of God with praise & thanksgiving! (Psalm 100)   It is time for us to walk according to the Word of God.

What Is a Gift

Pastor Yulonda Smith – Speaker

What is a gift?   – A gift is something that is freely given to you by someone else.   A gift is not a prize you have won, a reward you have achieved, or a bonus you have earned.

The absolute best gift any of us has been given is Jesus and his unconditional love for us.

Romans 5:8

8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 6:23

23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Why is a gift given? – a gift is given to you with one specific purpose in mind- that you receive it.   Even though a gift may come beautifully wrapped, the giver never intended for you to look at the wrapping and walk away but to open the package and enjoy the gift inside.

Jesus came because he love us and He came because we needed Him!

Luke 19:10

10  For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

 Luke 10:20

20  Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Will you receive the gift? – All God wants us to do is receive the gift of Jesus.   W2hen we truly do this we will allow Him to heal us, mold us and cleanse us.   The “Best Gift” is for Everyone!

John 1:2

2  The same was in the beginning with God.

John 3:16

16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Reflection, ask yourself these questions * Am I more consumed with material things, recognition, power etc. than I am with spiritual growth, sharing the love of God with others and living righteously?   How can I share the “Best Gift” with others?

A Closer Walk with God

Speaker: Christian Adams

A Closer Walk with God – Volume 1

“Blessings & Responsibilities”

We all want blessings but we have responsibilities.

Consider the blessing have GOD as a FATHER! Regardless of your earthly parents, we have God and He is a good parent.

1 John 3:1

3  Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

~ It is our job to let people to know how good our father is. We as Christians, have to be careful not take our father for granted! He is the source of everything good and perfect. It should not take tragedy to lead us to pray.

God, as a good father, comforts us:

2 Corinthians 1:3

3  Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

If God is our father, we should be comforters like him. Are you bringing comfort to others? Are we speaking in love?

God, as a good father, chastises us. We need discipline. It keeps us from going to far. ~ Hebrews 12:5-6 He disciplines because He loves us!

God, as a good father, will never forsake us! We have to leave him to sever our relationship with Him. He won’t play the mistress though because He is a jealous God! Hebrews 13:5-6 ~ We leave God by pursuing worldly things!

We have a role/responsibility in being blessed!

We must SUBMIT to God. James 4:7–8 ~ We can trust God enough to submit to Him! He has everything under control! Submit to His Word! Remember clay does not tell the Potter what it wants to be! The clay does not fight the Potter! What God sculpts no man can take the credit for making!

Allow God to clean you up! Be willing to abandon your dirty old ways and environment so you can draw nearer to Him! If we confess and submit to God, He will cleanse us!

1 John 1:9

9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
