Relationships That Work

That relationship discussed in the excerpt is one based on time and wisdom. It starts with a determination to keep the vows made touched with continued forgiveness and love.   One definite key factor is that the relationship is ordained by God.

I must start this off rather redundantly because this scripture is almost a road map to a relationship that works….

Luke 10:27

And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

love, the eternal commitment.

If we can truly love God, I mean really love God,   I’m trying to say loving him to the point of total obedience to all he ask, because you’re always looking to hear from him.   You know that kind of love where you think about him first thing in the morning and you fall asleep talking to him a night, and when you wake up in the middle of the night, his name is the first name you call; that kind of love?

When we can get there, he will love through you because you would have given him all of you.   So many of us give all of ourselves to unworthy recipients, who when they have used you up move on to the next victim.   The Lord will not be that kind of lover. First off, the Lord will not be intimate with you without marrying you!   That’s the first sign of true commitment.   Christ will out love us every time.   He will listen, love, hold, protect and provide for you.   That relationship is the one that must work first.

It is then you will know what real love is.   Otherwise you will measure love by some fictitious   definition portrayed to us in the media , movies & night clubs.   The only person that could ever teach us how to love is the one that mastered love itself because He Is Love!   So now that you have that relationship down, he through the Holy Spirit will teach you how to make your marriage work.   I didn’t say it would be wonderful everyday, No; it won’t be.   As a matter of fact there will be many difficult times but love is a tenacious spirit that won’t quit when it’s real!

Forgive me for making this one a long blog but this subject is so important to the body of Christ because the world is watching us and our relationships with those we say we love. Argue if you have to, but talk it out so each of you can heal.   Once you have done your part, step back and watch God.   God knows how to crack the shell of so called hard headed Christians.   You know if Christ in John 17 said…” that they may be one as we are one”   he knows what’s necessary to bring us together as one.   When we come together in love that will be the ultimate “relationship that work”.

Dysfunctional Relationships

Dysfunctional – any malfunctioning part or element, characterized by a breakdown of normal or beneficial relationships between members of the group.

Luke 10:27

And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

The sad thing about dysfunction is that it can be misdiagnosed or go completely unrecognized as just life. What we don’t realize is that we have been robbed and we call it normal. There’s nothing normal about people sharing a home and not communicating nor having a desire to.   It’s not that they don’t know what communication is because if you could turn back the clock to the times he or she was trying to impress you, you would remember all the sweet words spoken.   Were they real, how did they fade, is it normal for time to erase the excitement of spending your life with the one you said you’d love til death do part?

A dysfunctional relationship can ultimately cause pain to more than just your emotions.

R. Kelly wrote a song, “when a women loves, she loves for real”.   Is he the only one that realizes this?     Men & women please wake up before it’s too late and God has allowed the death angel to slip in and take that which you’ve taken for granted.   It’s so frustrating to see someone mourn the very person they spent the last years of their life ignoring and now it too late!   How can real love fade?   God has made it clear that there is nothing that can stop him from loving us.   Oh, but how easily do we fall out of love with him when things don’t go our way.   So if we can walk away from God how do we expect that our commitment to each other would be stronger?

Dysfunction is usually based on something we deem worthy of causing a rift in the relationship, but is it?   Can anyone do anything worse to us than that which was done to Christ?   No!     Christ loved even those that whipped & beat him.     Can we love those that frustrate and maybe even hurt us ?   Just in case you didn’t know it’s a God requirement.

1 John 4:20  (KJV)

20If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

Ephesians 5:33

Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

Ephesians 5:25

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

NFBB – Strange Things

God will tell you to do some strange things!

  • He told Hosea to marry a prostitute.
  • He told Abraham to sacrifice his son.
  • He spoke through a donkey to speak to Balaam.
  • He told Noah to build an ark when it had never rained before.
  • He told Ezekiel to eat a scroll.
  • He told Ezekiel to lay on his left side for 390 days,
  • He told Ezekiel to preach to a valley of dry bones.
  • He told Ezekiel to cook his food in dung.
  • He told Isaiah to walk naked for 3 years.
  • Jeremiah was forbidden to marry.
  • He forbade Ezekiel to speak for a period of time.
  • Yes, God may request something strange of you!

Acts 5:27-29 (KJV)

27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,

28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to   bring this man’s blood upon us.

29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

His word is full of strange request, of which obedience is the only way to fully understand it's purpose.

He may tell you to disobey Man’s authority! We have to do what God says to do! We can’t trust what we see or hear in the natural. We must walk in faith! We can only trust God. Why does God ask us to do strange things? He wants us to learn to trust him unconditionally knowing that God knows all and is always with us! He wants us to realize where our loyalty lies. He wants to prove to you that He is God! “In thee O Lord do I put my trust. Let me never be ashamed.”

We must know the voice of God! We often tried to “feed” our thirst! We try to satisfy our flesh with things instead of the Word/God! The Word of God is food and drink for the soul! The Word is first “to” us and then “through” us. God can change us when we are willing to obey His voice! What has God been telling you to do? Step out and do it!

God does not mind us having stuff as long as we don’t allow the stuff to have us! Everything we put before God we will allow it to crumble! God wants to be 1st! When we stay focused on Jesus, He will protect us! Jesus is the fix for every problem! Don’t be surprised when the content of our testimony is tested! The enemy wants to scare you out of sharing your testimony! Give that testimony and ask God to cover it!

Don’t trust man! Man has a hidden agenda! Trust God!

His Face

1 Chronicles 16:10-12  (KJV)

10Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD. 11Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.
12Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

Seeing "His Face" could be as simple as looking up.

I heard in my spirit “if we don’t seek his face we’ll get his hand! I don’t think we fully understand what that means, or maybe we do in light of the recent current events?   Sometimes we may think seeking his hand will put us on the recieving in of blessings.   I want to share with you how he has shown me his feelings after revealing the meaning of seeking his face.   Let’s break it down; to seek his face would be a deep desire to see him.   To seek his hand would be to want what he has to offer; so we think. I don’t know if we realize that his hand is what’s being felt now…….

1 Samuel 5:11

So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to his own place, that it slay us not, and our people: for there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.

Hebrews 10:31

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

The hand of God will lead you to seek “His Face” because mercy will be our desire.

Hosea 5:14-15  (KJV)

14For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.

15I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.

I want to share with you that seeking his face will bring much better results.   His beauty is awesome to behold!   As I was righting this blog I heard Him say in my spirit “WITH MY FACE MY LIPS KISS THEE, WITH MY HAND I SMITE THEE”!

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Seeking his face is sort of like perfection, we may not obtain it but we are suppose to die trying.   No man has seen his face but throughout the bible all who diligently sought to see his face achieved great things and we still read about them today.   Some have even been taken to heaven without dying.   Wow, that could be us.   He promised the day is coming that he will come and pick up his own.

Help me seek “HIS FACE”!

Ain’t No Need of Worrying

John 14

1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

7If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

8Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

10Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

11Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

15If ye love me, keep my commandments.

16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

18I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

19Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

20At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

21He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

22Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

23Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

24He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.

25These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

26But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

28Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

29And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

30Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

31But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

Remembering Mama

Exodus 20:12

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Honor is loving and respecting the authority of motherhood, no back talk, no disrespect!   This is something rare today, yes maim is almost extinct.   I think we need to resurrect respect!

NFBB – The First Love

Nothing Like a Mothers Love

Speaker: Pastor Charlie Adams

1 John 2:7  (KJV)

7Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.

The First Love

The Bible says that Love never fails. Its time that we stand up for one another in Love!   We must sanctify ourselves. We can’t do what the World does.   We must read and study the Word so that we know without a shadow of a doubt the difference between right and wrong.   We must spend time in sincere prayer! We act like it is an insult to get on our knees. What has happened to us? We must return to the way of the Lord.

We must return to our “first love.” Our first love is the Lord.   We must stand strong. Mothers stand strong and keep your first love.   We must love and respect our mothers/grandmothers. There is so much wisdom in them.   Women – Let’s get back to being “first ladies” in the Lord.   We have “dissed” the Word and mama/grandma went with it!

Women have a power within them. The weaker vessel does not mean that women are spiritually weak!

Maintained by His Word

Don’t worry if you put the word in daily it will do what God intends.   We are well kept by God through his spirit as quoted by mother Johnson in bible study Tuesday night “Keep the Holy Spirit fed through the word” .   She also said ” The word of God is a preventative agent” meaning the word is able to fill us with the necessary information to resist the devil and his temptations.

If we take time to study, He'll open our understanding.

When you’ve decided to stand no matter who falls

trusting Gods word to see you through

Don’t be surprise who decides to call or all that happens to you

you see you’ll never know if what you say is so true

or if you’re really dedicated enough not to stray

until you’re hit from all sides and tested to faint

but you continue to stand away

It’s then you will know the word that you’ve read

didnt just go through your ears or stayed in your head

but actually seeped down in your soul

that when you could have gone off, it helped you maintain

Psalm 119:10-12  (KJV)

10With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.

11Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

12Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.
