Don’t Take Grace for Granted

2 Corinthians 9:8

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

Many of us may find ourselves on the wrong end of God’s blessings by continuing in activities we know displease him; in hopes of using the grace card!   “Lord you’re so merciful and kind” are our buttering up words after our dastardly deeds have been done. Repenting lackadaisically as if God doesn’t know the very intents of our hearts.   He loves us unconditionally but his Grace has an expiration date!

Romans 6:15-16

15  What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

16  Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

So that deed we keep falling back to becomes our God!   When the Holy Spirit revealed that to me that was an eye opener! Real love empowers loyalty. It’s almost like a wife or husband that says they truly love their spouse but can’t help being unfaithful with other people. You would question their love for each other?   That’s how we should feel when we’re tempted to do those thing God hates; we are betraying him with another lover! There are consequences to our actions.

NFBB – Deny Access

Speaker: Pastor Charlie Adams

Evil has escalated in the earth because men deny Christ. We can’t be friends with the world. We can witness to them but we can’t walk with them. We must tell people the truth! We can not allow the enemy to have any part of our minds nor can we allow him access into our minds. The Bible tells us to think on good things. However we entertain evil/bad. This gives the enemy space in our minds and lives.

We must allow the Holy Spirit to direct us. We have entertained evil so much that we are numb to it.   As the body of Christ, we are to fear God.

Luke 14:25

25  And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,

No matter where the enemy is present or in whom he may reside, we must hate him. We don’t hate the people, we hate the enemy!   “The devil does not let up, you can’t let up!”   We have to stay in tune with the Lord so that we are able to spot the enemy! We as Christians must count up the costs. We will have to let some people and things go for the Lord.   Conservation of Utility – we can’t waste or energies on those who reject the Lord. Pray for them, live righteously before them but do NOT waste time talking to them. Don’t cast your pearls to the swine.

The Bible is always right. We can not be tricked by what we believe to be right..We have to believe what God says.   Put your trust in God not in man.   You better learn to call on the name of Jesus because there are some things and people we will encounter that will only be phased by the name of Jesus! There is power in the name of Jesus. We can do nothing without God!   Never believe the lies of the enemy. Profess the truth of God!

We must be willing to carry our

Luke 14:27

27  And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

“Cross.” We all have a burden to bear but it/they will not be heavy because the Lord is there with us.

A Test of Patience

Daniel 3:16-18

16  Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.

17  If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

18  But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Testing always proceeds promotion! So if we expect to be promoted to the next level we must prepare for the testing. If we fall apart during the testing then we can’t expect elevation. If we fail the test, God is gracious enough to allow make up & retest!

The three Hebrew boy were tested on their loyalty to God or man. They proved that trusting God is always the correct answer and that protection was the reward for passing that test!   Not only did God prove to them that he could and would protect them but he was able to sway the opinions of those watching and waiting for their demise.

Just as God proved himself in that case he hasn’t changed, he will prove himself to all those that walk, talk & live in faith!

NFBB – Get on the Right Road!

1 Peter 5:6-11

6  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

7  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

9  Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

10  But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

11  To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 4:12

12  Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

No matter what happens, we ought always to give thanks to God.   God is with us always! The enemy will try to make you think you are alone but he is a liar!   Be kind and loving. There is nothing that can keep us from being loving. We may not the smartest or most successful but we can be the kindest!   We don’t have to fight people! God has promised to fight our battles. Instead we should pray for people. We must learn to be quiet.   When you are going the wrong way on the right road or when you are on the wrong road, we should see indicators that we are going the wrong way! You see the signs and you will never get to the right place going the wrong way!

Get on the right road!

The Faith Test

Not many of us have ever been tested to the level in which Job was! Just think about it God was the one that brought Job to Satan’s attention! After reading the story of Job our problems may seem small, yet in the midst of the trial it’s always the hardest.   We must not fail this test, for the makeup doesn’t get much easier.   The greatest thing is that God has, is and will give us what’s needed to prevail. Listen as our own Pastor Smith expounds so well…

Points of Reference

James 1:2-4

2  My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

3  Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

4  But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Job 1:8

And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered  my  servant  Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

Beaten but not Defeated

Phil Wickham – The Victory

2 Corinthians 4:8-10 (KJV)

8  We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

9  Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

10  Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

In case you didn’t know victory has the taste of BLOOD!   With every blow that was thrown the enemy thought he had won. Because there was no retaliation from our Savior; he thought he had defeated him! Yes Christ was beaten but he was not defeated, it was all part of the plan. Just as every battle we fight has been orchestrated and set up to educate and strengthen us as it glorifies our Heavenly Father! Trust me if you mean anything to God (meaning you have accepted and are determined to complete your God given assignment that might snatch souls from the pits of hell) then you are definitely on the devil’s hit list. Don’t you doubt or fear him you serve a God with all power, we are winners!

So don’t forget, if you encounter another wounded soldier ( a down trodden Christian) reach down and help him up and say to him, you may be “beaten but not defeated”! Then get up regain your strength to STAND, knowing this, victory is guaranteed!

Great Motivation

Many of us need “great motivation” but then are some that are…

Helen Baylor – Already Motivated

Those of us that need a little encouragement laced with the motivation to continue this journey with joy, nothing does it like the word of God!

Psalm 111:6

He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.

We who know God and have accepted Christ have grown to love him for his compassion and grace.   As we have been influenced by his power we realize that the ALL POWERFUL loves us; you yourself feel stronger!   Some of us are not sure how to take the heathen part of this verse?   Just remember we all have choices we can be on the receiving end or on the losing end.   The choice is ours!

How motivating is that, to know that all we see will someday be in our grasp?   Not just powerful, but privileged!   When we realize that none of us deserve it, it’s just God’s grace! Are you motivated to please him more, love him more, witness for him more & definitely read our bibles more?

Like Flint

Tell them – Andrae Crouch & The Disciples

Flint – a hard stone, a form of silica resembling chalcedony  but more opaque, less pure, and less lustrous, something very hard or unyielding, a small piece of metal, usually an iron alloy, used to produce a spark to ignite the fuel in a cigarette lighter.

Isaiah 50:6-10

6  I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

7  For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

8  He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who is mine adversary? let him come near to me.

9  Behold, the Lord God will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.

10  Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God.

Isaiah was given a great commission, of which he faithfully carried out; but not always with the greatest results according to man’s opinion.   In God’s eye he was a warrior!

There will be times that God will require us to do and say things that will not be popular with the masses.   There will even be times when he will ask us to say a word to those who will openly reject what we say and possibly even try to embarrass us for our efforts.   That’s when turning you face like flint will be necessary.   We have to stand strong and sure in what we know is right regardless of the outcome from others reactions! “If God be for us, who can be against us”?

There’s a great reward for them that put themselves on the line to enforce God’s word. Daily we see the word of God being attacked in the media, on our jobs and even in some churches.   As men so called evolves, we expect God’s word to evolve with us.   What we must understand is God is not for evolution!   He created everything just as he intended; and even though Christ blood freed us from the bondage of the law, he didn’t negate the law! As we mature our understanding may open, but it doesn’t change how God feels about sin!

God loves us all, his desire is that we all come to know him and the power of his love; but the truth is many will reject the offer! Share it, show it and stand strong with your face “like flint”
